Hello!
I have installed Pi-hole on Ubuntu 18.04.4 2 days ago and it works flawlessly. Today i received a message in Finnish from my ISP roughly translated to:
Hey! A security issue has been detected in your internet connection (my number). The terminal connected to the subscription has been used, for example, for denial of service attacks. More specific reason: Open name or DNS server. Prevent abuse as soon as possible or the subscription may be closed. For instructions on how to prevent misuse, visit elisa.fi/abuse under 'Misuse of the service' or call Omaguru on 0600 900 500
Is this because i set the pi-hole to be the standard DNS in the router settings or is it because I have forwarded the required ports? When i used the ShieldsUP! website as it were suggested in a similar post it said that i were safe.
Is it possible that my system has been infected and used to DDOS as my ISP claims or will disabling it as the standard DNS be enough? Or do i have to remove it entirely?
Thanks in advance.
Details about my system:
Asus laptop R541U. Yes it is overkill for just running a Pi-hole but its what I am stuck with.
