Is there a guide to avoid storage issues?

I seem to continually have issues with running out of space. I have reinstalled it from scratch 3-4 times over the last couple of years (32GB card) I always choose lite os, and run nothing other than pi-hole on it.
I know I have real 32GB cards as I have tried a couple of them and they came from local retailers. I even formatted them with the SD card association official tool to confirm they worked correctly.

This last install only lasted a couple of weeks before the log partition was filled.

my install this round was raspberry pi OS lite, apply updates, install log2ram, and pi-hole

I was hoping that there is a guide that would help me partition my card correctly to avoid this pattern.

I am willing to start from scratch again

Just use DietPi mate, then install Pi-hole through DietPi-software.

I used it for two years on a 16GB micro SD card before I needed to size it up for using Ansible (python stuff)

This is the problem. Log2ram does not have adequate storage for the logs.
