IOS not connecting to internet, MacOS failing adblock test

Thank you for helping me with these challenges!

I am running Pi-hole on Rasberry pi zero 2W and referring my router's DNS to Pi-hole

Expected Behaviour:

  1. I expect my iPhone and iPad to connect to the internet.
  2. I expect that running the adblock-tester on the Safari browser on my Mac will reveal that all ads are blocked.

Actual Behaviour:

  1. My IPhone and iPad connect to the network but say they are not connected to the internet. At the same time, my Macbook is able to connect to the internet via the same router and wifi.
  2. Running the adblock-tester service on the Safari browser on my Macbook says I only score 38 points out of 100.

Check out the Private Relay toggle in your Apple Account settings on the iPhone/iPad. If enabled, disable it (this setting reroutes your DNS when enabled).

Please generate a fresh debug token. None of the mods or devs got to yours before it expired in 48 hours.

Most of these adblock testers are meaningless. They have a number of domains that they test agains, and many of these may be domains you would never visit. Blocking them or not will have zero impact on your network.

The real test - do you see ads? Visit the cnn.com website on the MacBook running Safari. If you see ads, that browser is not using Pi-hole for DNS.

Thanks so much, jfb! I have an update - my IPad and IPhone now connect to the WiFi. But both of those devices and my Macbook still show ads on Safari, and the Pi-Hole traffic seems to suggest that it’s not being used.

I have attached here screenshots of the wifi settings from all the devices, the details (OS and model) of the devices, and the homepage from the pi-hole web server. Here is also the associated diagnostic token: https://tricorder.pi-hole.net/aFyR7GGz/

Thank you for helping me set up my pi-hole ad block.
