interface settings preventing to access internet

*when connecting to the recommended local host by pihole, unable to access internet until the interface settings are changed to "any of the potentially dangerous options"

Expected Behaviour:

the pihole acts as a firewall and acts as a firewall for qbittorrent which prevents it from downloading the files. (there is a firewall sign on the taskbar of the qbittorrent)
i am using

  • Operating System Debian bookworm
  • Raspberry pi 5
  • pihole and qbittorent installed using docker and docker compose

Actual Behaviour:

with pihole interface changed to any of the potentially dangerous options, blocks the qbittorrent downloading. if selected recommended setting for interface, internet cant be accessed.

Your expectations are wrong.

Pi-hole is not a firewall. It is a DNS server and a DNS sinkhole.

Thanks for your prompt response.

Wht would be the best suggestion to access internet as well as able to download torrent thru qbittorrent.
