Install pi-hole to test on Debian 11.0.3

Install PiHole in a virtual machine, using Debian 11.3.0-amd64:

  1. Select the correct installation media version

When installing Debian, it is a relatively smooth version
O > debian-11.3.0-amd64-netinst.iso

If using the DVD version, there may be errors during the installation process
X > debian-11.3.0-amd64-DVD-1.iso

  1. Desktop Select GNOME

O > At least install the GNOME desktop, and log in for the first time, the traditional network manager will be installed, and you can switch to other desktops after the first login

X > If only the LXQt desktop is installed and the network manager is connman, there will be a port 53 conflict
, the DNS cannot be enabled, the connman service must be disabled, which affects the network setting GUI

Is there a question here?

Why would you install a DE on a server? Debian != Windows.

You don't need to disable connman completely. Just disable the DNS proxy:
