Hoping to get some help, im wanting to use this on a Hisense smart TV, i watch YouTube on my TV and i get so many ads, on my computer i dont get any as i use adblocker, how do i install this on my TV??
It's a DNS blocker so you need to run it on a server/computer and have the clients use it as their DNS.
Pi-hole doesn't block youtube ads.
I was hoping it would be a good fix, like i said i use adblocker on my computer, i dont get any ads, i did try and install it on the TV but it wouldnt let me, someone put me onto this site, seems i have drawn another blank..
No you have not.
You can install Pi-hole on a plethora of devices but a TV is not one of them (except maybe if the TV were able to run Docker containers).
People have it running on their NAS, LAMP servers, SBC's, Docker containers, virtual machines (Virtualbox, ESX, Xen, etc) and I believe some have even managed to get it running on their router.
And if setup correctly, it will block ads etc for all your devices on your network not just a single one.
One remark though, some ads cant be blocked like the Youtube ones (search Discourse here).
