Instagram images can't be loaded

Expected Behaviour:
Load Instagram images without problem

Actual Behaviour:
Images cant be loaded on Instagram site even after hours

Checking on pihole web inteface i'm seeing that there are some queries that are being blocked when i visit Instagram.

--- connect.facebook.net (piholed)
--- graph.instagram.com (piholed)
and
--- instagram.fprg2-1.fna.fbcdn.net (forwarded)

all ipv4 requests

Even if i whitelist everything of the above domains problem persists. As it seems there are getting piholed again despite the whitelist.
Also the problem seems network wide as it happens in all the devices . From mobile phones to desktop computers ,in different operative systems(windows, ubuntu) , different browsers (chrome, firefox) .
Moreover it seems the problem is exclusively on Instagram as all other social networks as tweeter, Facebook, etc seems to work without problem .If it helps my configuration consists of using the pihole(dietpi) also as dhcp server. Router runs ddwrt and vpn client. As Upstream DNS Servers im using both google ,opendns and level 3 and in the advanced settings i have checked the options :

  • Never forward non-FQDNs
  • Never forward reverse lookups for private IP ranges .

Visiting the site with cellular data works without problem so i'm excluding additional ad blockers ,etc .I don't know when the problem appeared or if even existed in the beginning to understand if was a recent version change (Pi-hole Version v3.3 Web Interface Version v3.3 FTL Version v3.0) as my wife complained only lately. Any suggestion or clue of what possible could be the problem ? Thanx in advance for possible solutions.

Does anything change if you run pihole -g? Also try pihole -w connect.facebook.net

Amazing the pihole -g solved the problem magically! From what i see -g updates Gravity all the list of ad-serving domains. I had done it previously from the web interface (Tools -update ) but probably something got wrong or it just didn't work . Thanxs a lot !
