I'm having problems with pihole and unbound and two fresh installs of raspberry pi 5's

Please follow the below template, it will help us to help you!

If you are Experiencing issues with a Pi-hole install that has non-standard elements (e.g you are using nginx instead of lighttpd, or there is some other aspect of your install that is customised) - please use the Community Help category.

Expected Behaviour:

Two Raspberry pi 5's, Raspberry pi OS (Full)
I should be getting more requests in the query log that would be getting blocked but I'm barely getting any requests. I had this problem before that someone helped me out with but I can't seem to find the answer again.

Actual Behaviour:

Very few requests coming from my devices and low count of requests being blocked.

Debug Token:

Your debug log shows that your router's DHCP server is distributing itself as DNS server besides your two Pi-holes:

*** [ DIAGNOSING ]: Discovering active DHCP servers (takes 10 seconds)
Scanning all your interfaces for DHCP servers

   * Received 306 bytes from eth0:192.168.50.1
     Offered IP address: 192.168.50.236
     DHCP options:
      Message type: DHCPOFFER (2)
      dns-server: 192.168.50.236
      dns-server: 192.168.50.239
      dns-server: 192.168.50.1
      router: 192.168.50.1
      --- end of options ---

This allows your DHCP clients to by-pass Pi-hole via 192.168.50.1 at their discretion.

You have to configure your router to distribute only your Pi-hole hosts IP addresses.

Hey, I figured it out so thank you.

I had to turn off DHCP from my router and allow Pihole to manage DHCP. I also flushed the DNS on my Windows 11 install to relist the DNS. Thanks again!
