Hi,
I would like to know how i can see hostname instead of ip in query log. Currently i can see only IP.
Do we have to activate something somewhere ?
It will be very helpfull with more than 20 devices it start tos be hard to remember all my device ip.
My network configuration is :
DCHP Server hosted on nas synology
PI-Hole have a static ip adress.
My dns config on pihole
My routeur is a french adsl box.
Pi hole is running on a RPI3
If you need more information to help me just ask
Sorry i'm just a user of pi-hole and not a technical guy
Thanks a lot
You can make pihole as DHCP server or enter hostname in /etc/hosts
for example 192.168.0.5 Android
I know that
/etc/pihole/local.list
also stores them in the same format. Too bad it isn't backed up with the teleporter.
Also would be cool to set the names with the webui someday.

It is not backed up because it is generated solely from data that is stored in setupVars.conf
(which is included). Every manual change in local.list
will be discarded on the next run of gravity, so there is no point in including this redundant file.
that makes sense. It just seems like something that might be possible someday.
