Hardware recommendation for v6?

Yesterday I updated my pi-hole to v6. It's running on my Pi2/1GB RAM.
The update went on smoothly according to the log, but both the DNS and the UI were unusable, so I switched to a parallel running v5 (basicall telling my FritzBox to distribute the IPs for the v5-docker) - but left the v6 running over night. Not all clients are on the docker-Pihole as of now, but as you can see, after the update at around 21h, the request rapididly went down:

I also have Zabbix running in parallel, which showed this behaviour:

The Zabbix charts seem to concur with my experience, that now the UI works everytime without lags and the DNS works also (of course now with much less traffic)...

Is it save to assume, the upgrade needed like 6h for "after upgrade optimizations" on my Pi2? and now it would be safe to switch back to my initial Pi2 installation?
or is the "prerequisites" page not yet on v6 recommendations? The Pi2 has a 32GB SD-card and 1GB of RAM, should be enough?

I would say it's enough according to earlier posts about large Blocklists and needing at least 1 GB of RAM for them

But I am a bit confused :

  • Do you really have a Raspberry Pi 2B ?
  • Are you sure it's not the Raspberry Pi 3B ?

As far as I know only the 3B had 1 GB of RAM

Yes, the Pi2, Model B has/had 1GB:

Linux pihole 5.10.103-v7+ #1529 SMP Tue Mar 8 12:21:37 GMT 2022 armv7l

pi@pihole:~ $ grep MemTotal /proc/meminfo
MemTotal: 996104 kB

I'll try it out...

Yes, the Pi2, Model B has/had 1GB and runs smoothly even without swapping (SD card likes that).

No huge issues at all.

My FTL database is 4,5GB in size. I think it took that long to migrate the database for v6 or something...
