Group assign devices whitelist fail

Hello All,
The Group Assign in Add a new domain or regex filter is experiencing an issue when assigning a group assign Device with it whitelist domains. The Group assign appears to fail due to the group assign Default blocking other group assign devices whitelist.

Expected Behaviour:

When user apply a whitelist to assign device, the user would assume the device whitelist would override the default groups blacklist, this seem to not be the case.

System :

Bookworm 12
Raspberry Pi 4B
Pi.hole Beta v6

Actual Behaviour:

Fails to allow whitelist to function from other devices from the Group Management.

Sample from a mobile device.

Please upload a debug log and post just the token URL that is generated after the log is uploaded by running the following command from the Pi-hole host terminal:

pihole -d

You have 2 groups named:

  • "Default" (ID=0) and
  • "Device1.lan" (ID=1).

The whitelist entries you showed above are assigned to the group named "Device1.lan", but there are no clients assigned to this group.
Your device called "Device1.lan" wasn't assigned to any group.

This means all clients are using the default group and these whitelists entries are not used.

Note:
Naming your group Device1.lan doesn't automatically add a device with this name.
You need to go to the Clients page and add your device to the desired group.

I see the problem, okay, would this still work even with a rotating IP for every network connection from the mobile or only works with static IP address from the mobile ? The hostname is Device1.lan.
