Expected Behaviour:

Hi,

I hae a fresh install on docker. When I update gravity I get a “Connection Refused” mEssage if I have multiple lists from the same domain. Could it be I’m getting rate limited somewhere?

Pi-hole uses the curl binary to pull in the lists.
What does below output on the Docker host if replace <CONTAINER_NAME> with the actual name?

Try to add dns option to your compose file, like this:

Am I correctly assuming that the dnssetting sets the Upstream DNS used by Pihole itself, as apposed to FTLCONF_dns_upstreams which sets the upstream DNS server Pihole is forwarding requests to?

No. This is not a Pi-hole option.

This option sets the DNS server used by the docker container itself, without changing the host OS DNS server.
