I tried installing pihole on my ubuntu server. I couldn't get it to work and decided to uninstall. the pihole cmd is removed, but I can't seem to get an outside connection. I go to google.com and it can't load. I also can't seem to VNC into the server any longer.

Check your networking to make sure the IP is what you expect and check /etc/dhcpcd.conf to see if that is setting a value that you no longer want.
In addition to the troubleshooting above, if you want to confirm a complete removal, run this command:
sudo rm -rf /etc/.pihole /etc/pihole /opt/pihole /usr/bin/pihole-FTL /usr/local/bin/pihole /var/www/html/pihole /var/www/html/admin
