try the following steps

  1. run pihole -d for a debug token
  2. sudo nano /etc/resolv.conf
  3. change 127.0.0.1 to 9.9.9.9
  4. Save the file
  5. run pihole -r

if this process doesnt work please run another debug using pihole -d
