Easy VPN Setup Options

I will admit to being a total n00b when it comes to this, but I tried and failed miserably to follow the OpenVPN setup Guide from Pi-Hole and this guide as well to try and set up my Pi-Hole Machine on a VPN. My end result was breaking my internet and Pi-Hole as a whole and having to reset it...

Long story short, is there a simple, easy to use option that could help get my network up and running with a VPN? I am open to both free and paid options that are compatible with pi-hole.

I did, though I thought that was not compatible with a non-raspberry pi device?
