Does pi-hole have a limit on the number of hosts?

I have a user of pi-hole using one of my hosts blacklists. He is asking me does pi-hole / dnsmasq have any limits to how many hosts/domains it can handle?

I did some googling but could find a definitive yes or no to this.

There is no hard limit, but at some point dnsmasq will take a LONG time to start up. This may indirectly cause issues.
