DNS Server Not Working?

Please follow the below template, it will help us to help you!

If you are Experiencing issues with a Pi-hole install that has non-standard elements (e.g you are using nginx instead of lighttpd, or there is some other aspect of your install that is customised) - please use the Community Help category.

Expected Behaviour:

I recently updated my pi from Stretch to Bulleyes and I seem to be having some DNS issues. I disabled the DNS server on my Verizon Fios router G1100 and set pi-hole as the DNS server which was the original setting before upgrading to Bullseye. Pi-hole showed all the individual clients on the web interface which was normal.

Actual Behaviour:

After a day, in the middle of the night, pi-hole did not show individual clients anymore. It started to only show my Verizon Fios even when the DNS server has been disabled on it. I double checked my settings and nothing seems to be out of order.

Your active IPv4 interfaces are:

*** [ DIAGNOSING ]: Name resolution (IPv4) using a random blocked domain and a known ad-serving domain
[✓] constintptr.com is 0.0.0.0 on lo (127.0.0.1)
[✓] constintptr.com is 0.0.0.0 on enxb827eb9392c8 (192.168.1.152)
[✓] No IPv4 address available on wlan0
[✓] doubleclick.com is 142.250.65.238 via a remote, public DNS server (8.8.8.8)

Pi-hole is configured for a different IP"

*** [ DIAGNOSING ]: Setup variables
    IPV4_ADDRESS=192.168.1.169/24
    IPV6_ADDRESS=
    PIHOLE_INTERFACE=enxb827eb9392c8

Run pihole -r and select the reconfigure option to get Pi-hole on the active IP.

Thank you for the quick response.

I'll try that now.

Can you please check the new debug log below?

https://tricorder.pi-hole.net/iGpOadOd/

It should be the correct IP now, thank you.

Still on the same IP:

*** [ DIAGNOSING ]: Setup variables
    IPV4_ADDRESS=192.168.1.169/24
    IPV6_ADDRESS=
    PIHOLE_INTERFACE=enxb827eb9392c8

What am I doing wrong? I did reconfigure by running pihole -r:

[i] You may now configure your devices to use the Pi-hole as their DNS server
[i] Pi-hole DNS (IPv4): 192.168.1.152
[i] If you have not done so already, the above IP should be set to static.

[i] The install log is located at: /etc/pihole/install.log
Installation Complete!
[i] View the web interface at http://pi.hole/admin or http://192.168.1.152/admin

Where am I missing the step to correct the IP?

Install log shows this as well:

[i] Reconfigure option selected
[i] Using interface: enxb827eb9392c8
[i] Using interface: enxb827eb9392c8
[i] IPv4 address: 192.168.1.152/24
[i] Static IP already configured
[i] Unable to find IPv6 ULA/GUA address
[i] IPv6 address:
[i] Using upstream DNS: Cloudflare (DNSSEC) (1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1)

I tried changing the interface as well, but no luck.

The IP still does not change from this:

[ DIAGNOSING ]: Setup variables
    IPV4_ADDRESS=192.168.1.169/24
    IPV6_ADDRESS=
    PIHOLE_INTERFACE=enxb827eb9392c8

I checked the IP for my raspberry pi and it is indeed 192.168.1.152.

I'm stumped on what to do next, thank you for your time.

Can anyone assist on why the IP is not changing via pihole -r?

I manually fixed the IP by editing /etc/pihole/setupVars.conf,

found on another post. Thank you.
