OS: Windows 10
The Pi-hole's IP address is distributed as a DNS via DHCP.
When starting up Windows, I expect the DNS to work right away.
Actual Behaviour:
When I start up my PC (This occurred on multiple Windows PCs), it takes several minutes until I can access the internet. I'm able to ping the local IP address of the Pi-hole and can connect to my router's configuration interface (via IP) but my DNS requests cannot be resolved. After a few minutes, it just starts working. I never have any issues on my mobile devices (iOS, Android). When I manually configure another DNS server, it also works instantly. I'm not sure if this behaviour started after a Pi-hole update or a router update.
Hey @Elektrogott are you still seeing this behaviour? If so, you're welcome to post another debug log (they only exist for 2 days and are then purged). Looks like we keep missing each other's posts, that does happen now and again!
I checked again and the issue seems to be gone now. I tested this on two PCs with Windows 10. Maybe it was an OS thing that was patched. My router has updated to version 7.57 but I don't think this is the cause of the change as it was a security patch.
