Is it possible to implement the release of DNS requests for only one device via MAC / IP? Currently we can only disable the pi-hole completely. This implementation would be interesting, for example, for any server behind the pi-hole.
This is implemented with the group management in v5.0.
Started this topic to provide feedback to the new feature allowing clients to be defined by MAC address.
I switched to the branches (core still master) by
pihole checkout ftl new/mac_clients
pihole checkout web new/mac_clients
And flushed network table afterwards.
Important
First thing I noticed in Group management/Clients Known Clients now only contain clients with known MAC, no IPs are listed anymore (I have devices on other Vlans so IP would still be handy).

Under "Network" PiHole display the MAC address for every device it found.
Now it would be a lot more easy if we can use the MAC address in group management for adding new clients too.
Reason:
If network use IPv6, PiHole list every one (correctly) in the "Network" overview but also under management too which create a long list and create problems if only the IPv4 address is added.
Using the MAC address from a device would solve that and is more persistent as IPv4 and IPv6
