Clients using vpn to get around pihole blacklists

Hi, I use pihole at home to prevent my kids from accessing certain sites on their pc's. This worked well until they discovered vpn on google chrome to get around it. Is there a way to configure pihole to block those same sites even if using vpn? I tried adding the pc's mac address to the list of clients on pihole, but that didnt seem to help.

Thanks!

No. When a client moves their DNS traffic to an encrypted tunnel, Pi-hole sees none of it. And you can't change this in Pi-hole.

As you have discovered, Pi-hole is not a parental control solution.

You would need a firewall the blocks connection to VPNs.

Thank you!
