Chrome on win 11 hangs and consumes memory when removing 400 domains

The issue I am facing:
Google Chrome on win 11 hangs and consumes memory and CPU when removing 400 domains at once from the domain management page.

Details about my system:
Win 11 with Chrome Version 107.0.5304.107 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Pihole * Pi-hole v5.14.1

What I have changed since installing Pi-hole:
cleaned up my domain list.

To clarify, which of these is correct:

  1. Chrome hangs forever and is unresponsive for everything and needs to be terminated and restarted
  2. Chrome hangs forever but only for this tab; other tabs function normally
  3. Chrome doesn't hang forever, it just becomes unresponsive for a length of time everywhere
  4. Chrome doesn't hang forever, it just becomes unresponsive for a length of time on this tab only

Are you able to to repeat the deletions in another browser such as Edge and see if the behaviour is the same? This helps show if it relates to Chrome or Pi-hole.

Regardless, when you return to this page in Pi-hole, have all the deletions successfully taken place?

You can use Pi-hole Settings > Teleporter to backup your Pi-hole's settings, and use the Restore option to restore, eg Blacklist (exact), so you are able to perform these tests repeatedly.

You can try this with the Chrome Network view open; it may reveal some behaviour to help see what's going on. Ctrl-Shift-I and then the Network tab and interact with Pi-hole.

Chrome hangs forever until hard reset.

I run 5 piholes so I had a few goes at it. I found it you terminate the first wait error msg it does not happen to hang system.

Have you tried Firefox? It's gotten quite a lot better, and is still open-source! Either way, thiis is quite a one-off issue.
