Something is blocking some app notifications, and Google Play update searches (mobile data or disabling blocking resolves the problem).
I would like to be able to adjust Domain settings for just the phone, not everything, to try and identify which blocked domain(s) are responsible.
I believe using Groups is the way to do this. So, I need to enable both the Default and my-phone group for every domain and ad-list.
How can I update the group assignment settings of every domain at once, not one at a time, as there's 249 of them?
Suggestions of other ways to resolve the problem are welcome.
Instead of disable/enable each domain or regex individually, you could try to use:
-
Query Log page:
This page allows you to filter by client and see only blocked queries. This will help you to find which domains were blocked by the specific client:
-
Tools > Tail log files > pihole.log page:
This page shows the queries in real-time. Blocked domains are shown in red.
Keep the page open, then try to access the app on the phone. The domains will appear.
Please read how to use this page here: How do I determine what domain an ad is coming from?
Thanks, I didn't know that was possible (I never checked what the Upstream options were).
I think the problem was actually that my phone was rooted. As to why that was a problem on Wi-Fi, but not mobile data, is still a mystery.
