EDIT: I didnt notice the duplicate post:

It's reading as cloudflare on my devices from the outside. On the devices themselves it reads as the ip of the pihole server and my router. I assume it is the router but I don't appear to have options to disable the router from advertising it's own ip in addition to user specified, or forwarding local domain queries to upstream DNS. You might have a several issues.

1. The "timed out" messages when do nslookup;
2. Asus DHCP not playing nice with Pi-hole.

For the timeouts, if have a firewall running on Pi-hole, make sure to allow ports 53 TCP & UDP:

Asus routers are known to push their own IP for DNS via DHCP: If want to be sure, install nmap on Pi-hole: sudo apt install nmap And post results for below one (might want to redact some): sudo nmap -sU -p67 --script dhcp-discover 192.168.1.1

Another option is to flash another custom firmware onto the Asus router but is not without risks! https://www.asuswrt-merlin.net/

And maybe the devs/mods can see something in your debug log thats wrong ?
