Hi, since few days i can't connect to my 5ghz network when there are around 15 devices connected to same network, while i can still connect to normal 2.4ghz same network. If i disconnect 1 device then i can connect with an other device. Is there a limit of device connection ? If soo, how can i change this limit ? Thanks.
Commonly, wifi connection limits would be imposed by a router.
How do you suppose that DNS in general or Pi-hole specifically would be involved here?
I really don't know where the problem come from, my pihole is controlling DHCP sever + DNS + unbound, soo i thought it could be DHCP problem ? Not sure too. I don't see any limit settings on my router interface, same on pihole interface.
Pi-hole is not involved in any way here.
Alright, thanks for letting me know, i will contact my router service.
Update : yes it is my router problem, i've seen on web, other people got same problem, this router models are limited to 15 devices... time to change router... thanks again!
15 user limit on one frequency band? That is very odd. Is this an ISP supplied router?
Yes only on 5ghz, yes its original box from ISP, i will change my ISP
would it not be easier to change its configuration instead ?
This is very popular with ISPs in Asia. Have seen this several times in Malaysia and Singapore. They even try to prevent other routers. Then you have to do stupid tricks with TTL and such.
Which config are you talking about ? All settings are limited and they don't even allow you to change small things
Yea, this one is from france
I'm doing it like this:
[provider router]<------cable------->[my own router with wifi]
On my router i have to play with TTL/HL settings to make it work.
