Can't access Pi Hole Dashboard by Local DNS

Please follow the below template, it will help us to help you!

If you are Experiencing issues with a Pi-hole install that has non-standard elements (e.g you are using nginx instead of lighttpd, or there is some other aspect of your install that is customised) - please use the Community Help category.

Expected Behaviour:

My current setup on the raspberry is: Pi Hole, Unbound + Wireguard. I created a local DNS on the Pihole that points to the same IP as the Raspberry to access the dashboard even when I'm away but connected to the VPN. If I'm at home from the phone (android) it should access the panel without vpn.

Actual Behaviour:

However, if I am not connected to the VPN and I enter the local DNS like: "mydomain.test" it tells me that the IP address does not exist. If I enter the IPv4 of the Raspberry it says that a firewall may be blocking the connection (Chrome shows this message). If I connect to the VPN instead, everything works. Unbound and wireguard work perfectly. I do not understand. I also disabled this control in the router, couldn't this be the problem?

Debug Token:

Debug: https://tricorder.pi-hole.net/i020XyjW/

This would suggest that while your VPN connection would force Pi-hole as a DNS server, your Android phone (or its browser) does not use Pi-hole for DNS.
In that case, corresponding DNS requests would not register in Pi-hole's Query Log - do they?

If they don't: Smartphone OSs (or browsers) may by-pass Pi-hole via DoT (or DoH).
If you'd want a device to use Pi-hole, you'd have to disable related features, usually labeled as Secure or Private DNS or similar.

Thanks for the reply, I'm actually really stupid. Yes, the solution is more or less what you said, but I didn't see that the option in the VPN settings was enabled on the phone: "Block traffic if not connected to VPN." by turning that feature off, I was able to access the dashboard. I wanted to delete the post from yesterday but I couldn't do it, thank you very much!
