Cannot resolve pi.hole, but can see admin panel by IP

Expected Behaviour:

I expect to see the pi.hole admin panel when navigating to pi.hole in my browser or to see the corresponding HTML when I curl pi.hole from the terminal. I am reaching out to the pihole from OSX with the IP of the pihole manually set in my wifi DNS settings. The pihole is running on a RaspberryPi Zero W with Raspian as the OS

Actual Behaviour:

When I navigate to pi.hole I get an error in chrome that says "This server's IP address cannot be found". When I curl pi.hole from my laptop, I see curl: (6) Could not resolve host: pi.hole. When I do the same curl on the RPi I see the same error. However, if I navigate to http://192.168.1.69/ or curl that IP address, I see/get the admin panel HTML. Similarly, I can curl that IP and localhost on the RPi to get the admin panel.

Other notes

The admin panel has worked in the past for me. The issue occurred immediately after adding an entry to my blacklist.

Are you using this exact URL?

http://pi.hole/admin

I tried that exact url. I was able to fix it by resetting the router, so I'm guessing this might be a caching issue.
