Cannot access FusionSolar app (iPhone) when behind Pihole

Expected Behaviour:

When logging in to Huawei FusionSolar app on iPhone and behind Pihole, I should be taken to the app interface and a working app.

Actual Behaviour:

When logging in to Huawei FusionSolar app on iPhone and behind Pihole, access is denied and messages like 'user does not exist' are shown in the app. Username and password are correct and works fine outside of Pihole.

Debug Token:

What I have tried:
I tried looking at the Query while accessing the app. Unfortunately it does not seem like there is anything blacklisted when trying to access. However, as soon ass I disable wifi and use 5G I can log into the app. If I manually set my DNS to 8.8.8.8 access to the app works fine. When I go back to using Pihole as DNS there is no access to the app. This leads me to suspect something in Pihole is responsible for blocking access to this app.

Got the same issue as well with the iOS phone, seems like this is iOS only issue, not seeing the same issue on Android phone

Just found out that my phone was not able to access due to the network that I connected to is either a VPN or intranet that is not allowed to access the FusionSolar, you could try to check on that

How did you find out about your network not being allowed to access FusionSolar?

I really don't think that my network is the issue. When I am on wifi and change DNS from Pihole to 8.8.8.8 I have full access to the FusionSolar app. This to me points in the direction of Pihole somehow having an influence on access. My guess is that FusionSolar uses some kind of external service that is blocked by Pihole - I just can't figure out how to bypass this.

Does anyone have a hint on how to troubleshoot this issue?
When setting DNS on my iPhone to 8.8.8.8 the connection to FusionSolar app works fine.
When setting DNS to the local Pihole instance, connection to FusionSolar is broken - particularly the logon function. Pihole seems to be working fine for other services, so I am ruling out general network issues.
How to troubleshoot Pihole? Can anyone please refer to a guide or some things I could try?

Monitor your Pi-hole's Query Log for blocked queries from your iPhone while you try to access FusionSolar, and try if allowing them would fix your issue.

How do I determine what domain an ad is coming from? could also be worth a read.

I have had the same issue for a long time and also still search for an answer, but I wasn't able to find it anywhere if you find it somehow I would be thrilled as this would finally make FusionSolar available on the same damn network it is on. (it is accessible from the network when using other dns servers, or even outside using 5G but not when using Pihole)
