Safari, Chrome and Firefox on iOS load the website, ad-free. Pi-hole uses default blocklists.
On PC Chrome - ads are present (seem to be delivered by ad-sense):

Same PC - Firefox:
No weird domains in the log:
No 3-rd party plugins or browser addons.

That's exactly what I saw with Chrome Mac (ads) and then Safari Mac and Firefox Mac (no ads). Only one of the browsers was loading the ads.
I can see Google allowing Chrome to be loose in feeding you ads, since their business is ads.

Interesting. No ads in Firefox as well for me on my Mac. But Chrome and Safari show them.
