Best setup option Ubuntu on Hyper-V VM or Raspberry Pi

Hi all.

Been meaning to set up Pi hole for some time and I am thinking the festive season will be a good time to do this.

My question is where to install it?
My options are:

Set it up on a Ubuntu server VM running on Hyper-V on a windows server 2019.
This is the server edition of Ubuntu so no GUI, and it is also running Nextcloud and Piwigo.

Alternatively use a Raspberry Pi.

My preferred option would be the Ubuntu VM, but I would like a nice easy install and set up so if this is going to require a day faffing about then I would be less interested.

I suppose I also have a third option of setting up another VM on the windows server PC

Thanks in advance for all replies

Then use this option. It's no more difficult to install Pi-hole on an existing VM than on a Pi.

Great thanks. Would you foresee any problems installing it on the VM that has Nextcloud running?
