Apple Timecapsule DNS

Hi all, I got pi-hole installed on a raspi3 and it is working fine from the raspi browser and from a windows computer where I manually pointed it to the pi-hole. I cannot get it to work with my apple router.

I have a Apple Timecapsule as my router, it uses DHCP to statically assign the address 10.0.1.111 to my pi-hole. When I set the DNS settings in the router to point to 10.0.1.111 no websites load. Chrome tells me there are DNS issues. When I switch back to using the google DNS on the router, my internet works fine.

I've rebooted the router.
A little google-ing leads me to believe that the raspi does not have a firewall (and I confirm this by manually pointing my computer at the pi-hole.

Suggestions?

Despite being an Apple fanboy, I have never used a Time Capsule. However, it sounds like a gateway issue.

Send us the token generated by

pihole -d

and also make sure you are setting your DNS server under the LAN/DHCP settings section in the router.

Token: pv4fjitgxw

I have verified the DNS settings on the router.

Your log shows a request from a client getting processed. Try running tail -f /var/log/pihole.log when you have a client pointed to the Pi-hole and go to some sites. It should start showing log entries.

It seems to have been a windows problem. My linux laptop works fine, so does the iphone. After a reboot the windows box works fine.

Thanks windows.

Thanks for the help guys!
