Another "Unable To Update Package Cache" Errors When Updating

I'm trying to update pihole, currently running V5.18.2. There are several threads already here but none of those solutions worked.

Debug token is: https://tricorder.pi-hole.net/Hb0HXj9Q/ if that helps.

These are OS level errors that are preventing the apt update process from continuing. Until that process completes normally, the Pi-hole updater will not continue.

I recommend visiting the forums for your OS. For DietPi, that would include:

You might consider a clean reinstall of your OS to a later version (i.e. Bookworm). Buster is quite long in the tooth and out of Long Term Support.

If you go this route, save your Pi-hole settings via the Teleporter function and then retrieve the settings into your new install.

Awesome. Thanks for the quick response.

So the dietpi - bookworm version is the way to go for a new install?

That is the version of DietPi I recommend. Latest, supported by Pi-hole, etc.

Debian removes the backports component from the EOL Buster suite. However, dietpi-update actually removes it for you from the list. I even pushed a new patch version to the dedicated v8/Buster compatible branch of DietPi, so that this update to v8.25.3 should be offered to you, isn't it?
