After update to pihole FTL - stopped working - Jessie

Expected Behaviour:

pihole ftl should run and provide filtering

Actual Behaviour:

If i use pihole FTL I have no more DNS resolution. If i use dnsmasq, internet works but pihole says "0 queries"

I am actually running on debian Jessie with an openmediavault installation. pihole worked fine but the update to the FTL version broke it.
I tried several attempts to get it up and running again but no luck.

Ok, by manually stopping dnsmasq, starting pihole ftl service and doing "pihole restartdns" i got all 3 lamps green in pihole web GUI.
Still all queries and statistics remain zero.
DNS seems to work.

Update: 2018-08-06 As of v4.0, Pi-hole ships with _FTL_DNS, our fork of dnsmasq, which should restore compatibility with Raspbian Jessie. We still recommend installing a newer OS as Jessie is EOL anyway. By default, Raspbian Jessie only supports dnsmasq v2.72, which does not work with the log-queries=extra flag, which is required for Pi-hole v3.3+. I reverted back to 3.2.1 and now everything is working fine!
