Expected Behaviour:
smooth transition to 5.0
Actual Behaviour:
i upgrade my pihole to 5.0 today, suddenly i notice a lot of ads. so i update gravity, keep seeing the ads. i go to the frontend and to my internal ip, so i can see my query, and all the ads address where being forwarded, i blacklist some of them and try again. nothing chance, lot of ads.
i have restart the dns a lot, nothing. i reset the installation, nothing. dont know what else to do
All your blocklists are assigned to group 0, but none of the clients are in this group. As a result, the clients have no blocking, since none of the lists are active in their groups.
By default (or on upgrade) all clients, adlist, domains are in group "Default". So if you don't change anything everything will be blocked as before. When you start adding clients and groups you have to manually assign them.
The way I see it. With specifics groups I can "shutdown" pihole in a specific moment for a specific device. Without leaving the other devices expose to the web
That apply too for the whitelist domains. When you whitelisted one it goes to the default group. But the device that was trying to reach it is not in that group. So you have to go manually and apply that whitelist to that specific group. Don't know if you get me.
Anyways I will plan this as a feature request. Thank you for your time and thank you @yubiuser for the idea
