Ads in YouTube

Pi-Hole, running on Pi W 1.1. with PiOS Lite 32B and works great!
I expected to see it kill the increasingly annoying ads in YouTube videos. I know it won't get the plugs by content creators that are a part of the video, but I expected it to help with the others. Do you think it will be possible to help with this particular issue?
All in all, Pi-Hole works pretty much as advertised!

I think it is not possible to stop ads via pihole. If you block the ips from youtube where the ads goes through, it is possible that your video blocks too cause youtube uses the same subnet for both.

To block youtube ads, you can use adblocker addons in browser or use alternative streamsites I think

Pihole is a domain level ad blocker and youtube serves ads from its own domain so like @Tiger2205 mentioned, you cannot block the ads youtube serves without blocking youtube itself.

Youtube has also implemented Manifest V3 which curtails ablockers ALOT. Chrome based browers have been nuetered pretty well. There may be some ways left to get around Googles Ads but I think the options are dwindling outside of signing up for Googles premium service. Personally I'll suffer the ads before I do that...

Pi-hole will not do anything for YouTube.
