I have tried both and there doesn't seem to be a difference.

machine, pihole in proxmox container(intel nuc i3), dual core, ram 5GB

This would indicate that (purely from a speed perspective) neither is better.

Compare the features and pick the one that best meets your needs.

Pre-fetch, cache process, ease of maintenance, etc.
