Hi!

Unfortuantely I suffer from the same problem since 10 years. It's always the same story: I grab a Raspberry, install Pi-hole, all works perfectly for a few days and then suddenly my webbrowser starts to hang, the DNS resolution simply isn't performant any more. Even "ping ..." in Windows would hang. Then I need to remove Pi-hole from my setup.

Now I tried it again a few days ago. After years, still the same.

I absolutely have no idea what that is. As upstream I use Google:

I checked the live query log and the queries do **not** show any delay, which is really strange.

Is it always the same one ?
A Raspberry Pi can have hardware issues too! 😉

Ping to IP Address or Domain ?

What happens when you ping the IP Address of the Raspberry Pi on that moment ?

Without a debug log for the devs to review, you're shooting in the dark.

Please upload a debug log and post **just the token URL** that is generated after the log is uploaded by running the following command from the Pi-hole host terminal:

```auto
sudo pihole -d
```

or if you run your Pi-hole as a Docker container:

```auto
docker exec -it <pihole-container-name-or-id> pihole -d
```

where you substitute `<pihole-container-name-or-id>` as required.

Thanks for your time!

So far it turns out that likely I was just stupid. It's DNS, it's always DNS, it was always DNS—but in that case the DNS from my VPN. The OS used these servers without me knowing.

So I commented out all DNS lines for my configured Wireguard DNS servers and it seems it works now.

**TIP :** In general every OS gives the VPN DNS Servers complete priority once you are connected via the VPN unless you have configured it in such a way that it does not!
