Short answer: no.
I was a bit behind on updating my own instance - so just updated to the :v5.6 tag now, and I'm not seeing any slowdown of the web interface...

Synology DNS was set to an old DNS server.
The world is back on its axis.
(When in doubt, it's a DNS issue)
