# Using a VPN with pi-hole

**The issue I am facing:**

I want to use a VPN service which I can easily toggle on and off. Using a VPN in my device renders pi-hole useless as all the communication is encrypted. Setting it on the pi-hole server is no that practical as I can’t control it easily.

**Details about my system:**  
Latest Pi-hole Raspberry Pi

**What I have changed since installing Pi-hole:**  
Nothing yet
