I was browsing around in settings - DNS, and noticed that no DNS servers are defined - only a custom one, 127.0.0.1#5335. I don't believe that I set it to this. Would an update have modified this? I am not familiar with unbound.
No, the only way this can be there is when you either
- put it in there manually,
- edited
/etc/pihole/setupVars.conf
and put in here, or - ran some command that did this.
Do you run unbound
? What is listening on this port? Maybe you tried something else like DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH), or DNS-over-TLS (DoT) or something else which is at this address.
Please post the token generated by
pihole -d
or do it through the Web interface:
Tools > Generate Debug Log
I see where you appeared to have following a guide to install 'unbound' in the past per a prior discussion here: https://discourse.pi-hole.net/t/flow-of-dns-traffic/12224. That was in 2018. Maybe you just forgot about it.
