Some test sites say blocking is active, some say not

i tried to use the “test” websites to see how much pi-hole was blocking. The thepcspy.com site said I was blocking everything, The blockads.fivefilters.org site said I wasn’t blocking anything. Then, the nytimes.com site seemed to have no trouble displaying all its ads, so...I’d say I don’t know what I’m doing.

The dashboard says I’m blocking some 120K sites. I see a handful blocked every day, from both IPv4 and IPv6 clients. Where can I read about whitelisting versus blacklisting, and for certain, what whitelisting means here?

Why don't some ad blocker tests work with Pi-hole?

Ad blocking plugins typically load the entire Webpage (ads included) and then run some scripts to detect and hide the ads. This is the sort of thing ad blocking testers will test for.
