Running 2 pi holes on my network?

Hello.. Just wondering if there would be any advantages to doing 2 pi hole setups on my network? I am thinking specifically, because I have the ability to set 2 different DNS servers on my router?

Would this cause any conflicts also?

I just have a few pi, just sitting around collecting dust, and I cannot think of anything better to do with them, if the top of my head.. Lol..

Thank you

This may be of interest:

Network redundancy. If DNS1 fails (reboot, failure), DNS2 takes over seamlessly. WITH the added bonus of having pi-hole DNS filtering (during DNS1 outage).

If one uses public dns’ as backups, some queries can slip through and ads will be displayed even when DNS1 is working properly.

However, running 2 separate pi-holes, ensures consistency across the board.

I run 3  myself.

Thank you for the reply. Much appreciated

Cool.. I will set up another tomorrow then.. Thank you for the response and input (along with practical experience)...
