I don't know if there is some reason not to have it in real time, but there are times when I'd like to be able to glance over at what's being queried as I do other things. Perhaps real time with a pause button....

Yes, I guess so. It lacks the simplicity of the query log for the beginning user, but I suppose that does answer the feature request in the strict sense. Thanks for showing me how to do that!
