Expected Behaviour:
Running Pihole 24/7
iMac Mac OS 15.2
Actual Behaviour:
Pihole stops at random times for random hours. You can see it at this pic of my timeline: 2025-01-21 09.07.43.jpeg - pCloud
There is no action done by me, either at the beginning or the end of the silent phase.

Thank you for any advice
Peter
Looking your image closer, it was possible to note Pi-hole was receiving queries all the time.
Using an image editor I increased the contrast and manipulated the colors to make them more visible.
This was the result (click to expand):
Maybe your devices were using a different DNS server.
I noticed you configure your router to advertise itself as DNS server.
Are you sure Pi-hole is the only DNS server configured in your network?
Thanks so far.
The problem is that while Pihole seems(!) to be off, I get flooded with ads. Maybe there are queries, but the function is not as expected.
Regarding DNS server, here is what I have written in my router: https://e.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZkU4KZ3gmHRFvzD1VS8tBSfi0dhB6QV6QX
.26 is the adress of my pihole, 9.9.9.9 is alternative
Best regards Peter
Your image shows you have more than one DNS server configured.
Pi-hole is working as expected, but Pi-hole only works when you use it. When your router uses 9.9.9.9
you will see ads.
Remove 9.9.9.9
to make sure only Pi-hole is used.
Thanks again!
I removed 9.9.9.9 and configured the IP-adress of my ihole as alternative. It is necessary for my router to have an alternative IP-adress! Then I configured the same for IPv6-adresses. In addition I disabled the WLAN-device in my pi. It has another IP-adress, which is not directed as a DNS-server.
As long as I can see today, all is working fine. And I hope it will stay fine.
Thanks, Peter
Sorry, the problem is back again. Today after a coffeebreak I saw those ads again. What should I do additionally to the things I have done in my last post? Why is the behaviour changing when the Mac is left alone?
here my last log:
