Sweet.
For the 8.8.8.8 nameserver, check below file:

pi@noads:~ $ tail /etc/dhcpcd.conf
[..]
interface eth0
  static ip_address=10.0.0.2/24
  static routers=10.0.0.1
  static domain_name_servers=127.0.0.1

Name server should display 127.0.0.1.
If resolv.conf still shows 8.8.8.8, a reboot will probably fix.

lol, yeah thats my bad, pihole is up and running.

gimme 20m to reflash and reinstall from scratch and i will be back to mark this as solved.

Boom, $26.06USD transferred.

Reboot still shows nameserver =8.8.8.8 probably from some of the other skullduggery performed. I'm gonna reflash and report back.

Everything seems to be working, I've left the nameserver=8.8.8.8 in /etc/resolv.conf and everything is working as intended. Thanks deHakkelaar for the script and DanSchaper for vetting what we were doing and reining me in.

I'll toss my witchers some more coins when v5 comes out. For now I'm marking this as solved!
