I had an older RPie B laying around, followed the tutorial at https://www.crosstalksolutions.com/the-worlds-greatest-pi-hole-and-unbound-tutorial-2023/#Install_Pi-hole and bam! pihole is working.
Have to say, was less than an hours work and so far its pretty amazing...
in less than 24 hours, no one home and limited time on the computers, 32,000 queries and 7k of them blocked.. Impressive!
So, I wondered if there was a way to easily create an image of the entire sd card from within putty to have a quick restore point in case a future boo boo ?
I have another computer on my network, all it does is run a nextcloud server inside of a virtualbox. Learned years ago to always backup the virtual disk before upgrading the appliance, ubuntu, php or whatever. Sometimes the work involved takes more time than I can give it BUT need the service up. In those situations, a quick move or three gets me up in no time at all.
At least then I know the next time I upgrade I need to dedicate a few hours if needed...
I was hoping some one here has a backup / restore plan for the entire ssd in my rpie ?
