I have pihole and dnscrypt running on 1 pihole. i wanted to create another for the kids to use with opendns for webfiltering etc. I have compared settings and i do not see anything wrong. but for some reason it will not resolve and once i change the setting i have no dns. i am in the process of cloning my sd card to see if i can get it to work that way. any help would be appreciated. I have wiped the sd card one last time and can reinstall everything.
You have not provided much information. If it's a DNSCrypt problem, then you will need to go to a DNSCrypt forum for a resolution.
How do you have the two Pi-Holes configured on your network?
Generate debug logs from both Pi-Holes, upload them when prompted and post the tokens here.
I am sorry, next time i will follow the format, I did seem to get it working by cloning my working pihole w dnscrypt and then flashing that to another SD card and changing the IP address. however in the cloned sd card it still shows the ip address of the one that was cloned. i have ran the repair but it didnt seem to fix it. other than that it seems to be working.
You can fix this by ensuring that this new (cloned) Pi has a separate static IP address from the router. Then note that address, and run pihole -r
and select "reconfigure" (not repair). When prompted, set up the Pi-Hole on the IP address of this device. That should resolve your problem.
yep i have done that but as above it still shows the wrong IP. It is actually functioning a 172.16.50.4 IP other than the one above.
