Since turning up pihole and then coredns I notice brave 1.34.80 sometimes taking over 30 seconds to draw a page. firefox 96.0.2 does not stall like this. the host is running OSX 11.6.2
If migrate my DNS away from the pihole setup the stalling no longer occurs. Any ideas what could be causing this? the pihole log does not show DNS resolution errors.
Use the Brave web inspector/developer tools (or whatever it is called in Brave) to see what content is being requested with the html page. See if any of them result in errors.
You can also compare what you see in Brave to a similar check in Firefox.
