I am planning on installing pihole for our company (around 600 clients). How good can it handle the traffic? What specs are recommended? Does anyone have similar experience?
You should install it on a VM or dedicated machine, but it does not require many resources, even when handling that many clients.
I have Pi-hole deployed in an environment with around 250 active clients (about 30% mobile phones). It is handles by two Raspberry Pis. Note that there is basically no load on those devices and the fact that I have two is only for redundancy (in case of a failure e.g. while I'm traveling).
