Expected Behaviour:
Not blocking ads/porn sites from other pc's. router primary dns 192.168.1.126 second 8.8.8.8

Not using pi-hole dns ip

Should I then disable the dns server on the router and activate pi-hole dns server ?.
The problem is having the Pi-hole along with 8.8.8.8 being given to the clients. A majority of clients do not query Pi-hole first and then 8.8.8.8 if Pi-hole is not available or returns a blocked response. The client will then query 8.8.8.8 and advertisements would flow in through that DNS server. So with both listed you will get ads coming through.
When I set the secondary dns server ip to 0.0.0.0 or 192.168.1126 on the router. The clients can not resolve the host ip, "The site can't be reached" It's as clients can not see the pi-hole dns server although I can ping the pi-hole ?.
What kind of devices are you clients?
