Okay, first of all – updated debug token is ok201syiex!.
I have tried many things to correct the problem in the interim. The current status appears to be the same as when I first saw problems (“Lost Connection to API”, DNS and FTL services not running).
At one point I was briefly able to get DNS and FTL showing as running after I ran
sudo pihole-FTL test which would immediately report success, but then the piHole admin web interface wouldn’t load (it just tried to launch/refresh but would appear to be locked up).
Latest steps that got me to this point:
Reboot of Raspberry Pi.
pihole status and confirmed DNS not running.
pihole -r with the Reconfigure option.
At first, DNS service would not launch, but did so after a retry (I might have run pihole-FTL test in another window that could have triggered this success, can’t remember for 100% sure)
No further errors reported, but DNS and FTL not running as stated above.
I then ran
pihole -d and posted here.
During my troubleshooting, I found an install of the apache2 package and removed it. I found after this that if I connected to my PI server at 192.168.1.200 (without the /Admin) it would load a default Debian Apache web page. I then removed apache2 again with the --purge option and it was gone from my dpkg list; then loading 192.168.1.200 without /Admin loaded the expected PiHole page (“did you mean to run /Admin” prompt would show). But PiHole services were still not running even after the above steps to reset, restart services, etc.
Thanks for help thus far.
